INFORMATION FOR POTENTIAL MEMBERS:
The Knickerbocker Yacht Club is a member-owned private club. It was founded in 1874, making it one of the oldest yacht clubs in the country. The club is operated by committees of members who are supervised by elected officers and a Board of Governors.

Our facilities on Manhasset Bay include a clubhouse with a dining room and bar, three all-weather tennis courts, a swimming pool overlooking the Bay with locker rooms and a poolside snack bar. Waterfront facilities consist of one fixed and eight floating docks and a hydraulic small boat hoist. Our four diesel launches provide excellent service to and from our moorings.
Yachting activities revolve around weekend and Thursday night racing in Manhasset Bay, club cruises, sail and powerboat rendezvous, overnight racing and Long Island Sound regattas. We have an active adult sailing program for beginners and advanced sailors. The club also sponsors the Knickerbocker Cup Trophy, established in 1982 to promote match races on a world-class level. This is a seven-day event, which attracts World Class Skippers including Russell Coutts winner of the last America's Cup.
Knickerbocker Yacht Club is very proud of its extensive Junior Sailing Program. This program teaches children the joys of sailing, boat handling and racing. Our highly trained professional staff has produced many excellent sailors, some who have participated in World Class Racing including the America's Cup. The Junior Sailing Program is available to children between the ages of 9 and 15, and also includes swimming and tennis and runs for eight weeks.
A complete tennis program is available on our three Har-Tru tennis courts. There are tournaments as well as a full range of lessons and clinics for all abilities offered by our full time Tennis Pro. You will easily pick up a game with our many tennis players.
We also enjoy a year-round social program featuring winter Jazz concerts, pool parties, barbecues, a black tie New Year's Eve dinner dance and other monthly events. Other activities that may be of interest to you are our Ham Radio Club, which has a radio station on the KYC premises, duplicate bridge and Sunday afternoon film screenings.
Our Women's Division hosts and sponsors a variety of activities enjoyed by all members (men, women, children) throughout the year, such as book club discussion groups, museum trips, an annual Spring Fashion Show/Luncheon, and a Holiday Party/Toy Drive for children
Our dining facilities, which are available to members for private functions such as Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Anniversary Parties, Weddings and business meetings, are operated by one of the largest food service companies in New York. Our Food Committee meets monthly to ensure that the dining room in responsive to the health and other needs of the members.
